2019 Grüner Veltliner, Scheurebe, and Weissburgunder Koreaa is Judith Beck’s original field blend of many different grape varieties including Grüner Veltliner, Scheurebe, Weissburgunder, Neuburger, Welschriesling, Zweigelt and others. The biodynamically farmed fruit is handpicked together in late August, given 3-4 days of maceration, then pressed and naturally fermented in old barrels, with aging of about 6 months on the lees. The vineyard has a gravely soil and is about 30 year old. It is far from the center of Gols, and is officially named Fürstliches Prädium, but locals have called it “Koreaa” since the 1950s. As Judith comments, “When we rented the vineyard in 2016 we decided to use this nickname for the wine from this site.” 12% alcohol. 800 cases were made in 2019.
