We love muscat on the skins because it's like cheating, you get so much more than you deserve from those skin flavors. You get a floral blast on the nose with a hint of tropical peach rings. Add in the skins of the grape and you layer on citrus notes, grapefruit pith, and tons of warm spices.
This Lake County Muscat underwent whole cluster carbonic maceration for 17 days. We then pressed it into tank and let it settle for 1 week before transferring it to neutral oak barrels for 12 months.
