This is named after the orange butterfly commonly known as “The Great Spangled Fritillary” whose genus/species is Speyeria Cybele. An aged, Champagne Method sparkler with a long, deep maceration. Rarity upon rarity in 750mL from Deirdre Heekin and Caleb Barber of La Garagista, working with a couple hectares of vines in south-central Vermont.
Hand-picked and hand-sorted, this honest, unfiltered wine was fermented on native yeasts, with long maceration on its skins at their cantina with a traditional second fermentation in bottle.
