Our “Grand Vin” from our Barbabecchi vineyard at 910m. Planted around 1910 and North-North East exposed, capturing the first and cool morning sun rays. This pure Nerello Mascalese from ungrafted old vines produces a profound wine, rich as well as elegant at the same time with character and personality: liquorice and oriental spices. Only produced in great vintages where we achieve full phenolic ripeness. ONLY ~1,500 bottles produced a year

Vinification: Destemming & light crushing of the grapes
Fermentation: starting with a “pied-de-cuve” using only indigenous yeasts & skin contact for about 60 days Aging: In neutral epoxy tanks from 1200 liters to 2.500 liters

Farming: Not certified Organic/Biodynamic but practices in the fullest to be little to no intervention and sustainable. No fining or filtration, no added sulfites. As pure as they come.
