Vintage: 2017

Grape Varietal: Nebbiolo

Farming: Organic

The 2017 Barolo Brunate shows off its brawn and size. Firm, muscular tannins wrap around a core of sweet red berry fruit, iron, dried herbs, licorice, tobacco and brambly, earthy notes. I would give the 2017 at least a handful of years in bottle. It has good depth if, naturally, not quite the volume of the very best years. VITICULTURE: Guyot training. Harvested in the first week of October. Planted between 1979 and 1981. VINIFICATION: Fermented in stainless steel with remontage for 25-30 days. AGING: Aged in 20 and 50 HL Slavonian oak casks for three years followed by at least four in the bottle before release.
