Vella's Catarratto is textured, citric, apricot-esque, wonderfully complex and full of the delicious exotic fruit elements you expect form a great skin-contact white. Harvested by hand, the yields are naturally restricted by the winds and climatic conditions on the island and average around 80 quintal per hectare. The vineyard sites are situated at an altitude of 350-450m, ensuring cooler night time temperatures which preserve crucial acidity in the grapes. This is 100% Catarratto wild fermented in acacia barrels and left on the skin for 5 days, then aged in steel before getting bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur added.
