Domaine Jean Foillard, Fleurie - 2020

2020 - Gamay There is something no-nonsense and straightforward about Foillard’s wine. It seems to say, let’s cut straight to deliciousness. Deliciousness with class. It has a wonderful texture going down. The finesse from start to finish seems almost offhanded. The Fleurie bottling is always gorgeous and penetrating sourced from a 1-hectare parcel comprised of 20 to 70 year-old vines that are grown on unique pink sandstone. Traditional whole cluster fermentation that last from 3-4 weeks to preserve the fruit and earth purity. Aged 6 to 9 months in used oak barrels. Low SO2 added.
