Notes of black cherry, blackberry, sour plum, pomegranate, dried herbs, violets, balsamic and spices. Easy drinking, slightly funky, a little sweet in the taste.
The grapes are destemmed with berries kept whole and gently pressed without breaking the skins, just enough to kick off a native-yeast fermentation in vat. Fermentations go long in this cold cellar, as do macerations, which are up to 2 months. The wine ages for a year in a mix of cement, fiberglass and steel tank. At this point, the wine is either bottled the annual "Teresa" (named for mama Maria Teresa Verruà) or, in certain vintages, aged another full year in a large botte before being bottled as "Teresa La Grande". No filtration and zero sulfur.
