1989 riesling While the winery has been named Carl Ehrhard since its founding 150 years ago, in 1963 Carl’s father, who, as the third child, did not inherit the name Carl (which was always passed onto the first son), renamed the winery Geschwister Ehrhard, meaning Brother and Sister. This was in reference to our Carl and his younger sister, and the winery retained the name until Carl and Petra decided to change it in 1995. Made by Carl under the Geschwister Ehrhard name, his Auslese is very near and dear to Carl’s heart, and was made in the days before he took over the winery but was still the sole winemaker.
