Tannic and rustic, the funk is generally restrained here. Raspberry, black tea, beets, and crab apple crunch. Earthy and snappy, this is an exciting wine to drink.
El Pancho comes from an 80-year-old, dry-farmed vineyard on the border of California called Rancho Camacho—one of winemaker Noel Tellez's favorites. The vineyard is planted with a mix of different varieties that go into this bottling, one of which is Carignan. The wine is aged in stainless and bottled without fining, filtration, or the addition of SO2.
