Syrah
Benevolent neglect is the creation of two East Coast transplants who moved west with the ambition of one day making great wine. Our philosophy is simple – find the best quality fruit we can get our hands on, and then do as little as possible to it.
A classic cool climate Syrah from one of the most well regarded Syrah vineyards in Sonoma, Las Madres. The wine is fermented with 40% whole cluster and sees a very small amount of new Hungarian oak. The wine opens with elegant aromas of violets before the bright and showy blueberry aromas start to stand at attention followed by flavors of raspberry tart, and the palate showcases a perfect balance between acidity and silky tannins.
