Domain Pérol is a family estate founded in 1912 in the village of Chatillon d’Azergues in Southern Beaujolais named after the golden colored limestone found in the village. Wines are estate grown and bottled. Currently at the helm is fifth generation vigneron, Anthony Pérol. At only 23 years old, Anthony took over for his father, Frederic, in 2013.
Organic certified since 2005. They work the soilswith natural compost and herbal mineral mixes for spraying in the vineyards. Biodiversity and aspects of biodynamics are employed. All grapes are hand harvested. Whole cluster fermentation takes place in concrete vats for 6-8 days. Aging takes place in concrete vats on fine lees to conserve the freshness of the Gamay grapes.
