2020 - Gewürztraminer
Zegwur is an anagram of Gewurz. Yann named it so as it is an atypical style of wine for this grape in Alsace. Flowers and fleshy lychee intoxicate the nose while on the palate you have an expressive melange of pithy pink grapefruit and lychee. A tactile, salinic, and textured palate. This is a bone-dry wine with lovely texture.
hand harvested, then gently and slowly pressed over an eight-hour period. 25% was destemmed and macerated separately for 2 weeks, then pressed and blended with the initial press wine. The blended wine remains on it’s gross lees in stainless steel tank until bottling (approximately four months). The wine is lightly racked once, the day before bottling.
