It begins distinctly minty, with raspberry and red plum on the nose. A little clove and milled coffee bean waft over a woodsy aroma. Over time, sweet orange peel, pungent roses, and candied strawberry appear, adding richness and pleasant aromatic dimension. The wine finishes on a serious note, with a hint of menthol and a dash of black tea. Fantastic, semi-chewy Nebbiolo tannin and firm acidity are long lasting.
Native yeast fermentation in tanks, a 25 day maceration and 2 years of aging in large oak botti. It has all the classic aromatics of their Tradizionale, but is a bit softer in tannins and meant to enjoy younger than its siblings.
