The Trossen winery is situated less than 500 feet from the banks of the Mosel River and a few kilometres south east from the villages of Urzig and Erden. The surrounding geology is dominated by weathered grey and blue slate, gifting the fruit fine aromas and intense minerality. Wines from Kinheim-Kindel are rarely heavy and alcoholic but instead have a delicate fragrance with a vein of salinity and cooling zest. The Mosel is also responsible for a breath-taking range of styles, from light, restrained Kabinetts to luscious Eiswein and Trockenbeerenauslese, all feature the characteristic slatey minerality and fine backbone of acidity.
