Unlike its cousin Neale, Urulu matures in oak barrels for 9 months, then in bottle for 3 months. The wine handles the oak really well as it is incorporated seamlessly into the taste profile without overpowering the palate. Wine imparts on the nose, hints of berries, bit of herbal notes, peppercorn, and sliver of licorice. Wine shows on the palate as a well-structured, harmonious juice with soft, silky tannins with elegant finish.
