In 2016 we launched our little Vater & Sohn portfolio with the intention of coming up with wines that work for the father as well as the son. They’ve done a great job. And it’s time for this blend to move to a new level. Instead of several single variety wines there will be one blend. Relatively clear and with a touch of sulfur added at bottling. It doesn’t have a vintage on the label which allows for more freedom composing the blend.
For this vintage the Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) was from 2017, there is always Müller-Thurgau involved and we had plenty of Bacchus in the cellar in 2018 – a spectacular year for that variety. We learned that the cork helps the small amount of SO2 to integrate better and it turned out to become a super light yet intensely juicy blend. Organic. Biodynamic
