An aromatic combination of blackberry, violet, white pepper, chalk and a trace of earthiness. Ripe, earthy marionberry and white peach fruit flavors fill the mouth, while bits of anise and bittersweet dark chocolate float in the background. Smooth tannins and more than enough acidity to keep things lively. This 2020 Estate Syrah was harvested and put into open top bins with, on average, 33% whole cluster. The ferments started spontaneously from indigenous yeasts and proceeded to ferment outside until they finished roughly three to four weeks later. The wine was pressed off to age in neutral French oak barrels for 18 months prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered with a small dose of sulfur added at bottling.
