Easton Estate Zinfandel - Shenandoah Valley

2013 Zinfandel EASTON Estate Zinfandel flavors are full, rich, smooth, and gutsy. We call this Zin the "Big Boy", as this wine is the biggest style of Zin we make. The wine has huge brambly blackberry fruit, big cedar, spice box aromas and flavors. It has a smooth creamy finish from aging in François Frères and Taransaud barrels (1/3 new). This Zin stays in French oak for 22 months and then in further bottled aged for several years before relase. Our Zinfandels have no residual sugar and nice balancing acidity. This wine will age nicely for at least twenty years. Bill and Jane recently had the 1999 version of this wine for dinner and were blown away by its relative youthfulness. Who says Zin doesn't age?
