Delienne is producing some of the best Gamays we have tasted in quite some time. The wines offer everything you would hope for: profound purple color; an aromatic nose of black and red fresh fruit, rose petals and blood orange; and a palate that showcases the texture and power of the great terroir of Fleurie.
Located in La Madone, the Vigne des Fous was thus nicknamed due to its slope, the steepest in the appellation. This 100% Gamay is sourced from 40 to 50 year old vines. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are sorted before a low-intervention carbonic maceration. Pressing takes place after 15 days, then there is a 15-month maturation in barrels.
