2020 - 50 % Welchriesling, 50% “Gemischter Satz” (aka field blend) The wine has noticeable tannic qualities from the skin contact but good acidity that makes for a balanced wine. The wine is playful and light on it’s feet with an elegant earthy note balanced with refreshing textured stone fruit notes. Once hand-harvested, most of the grapes are destemmed and let to ferment in open-top vats; about 30% are kept as whole bunches for carbonic maceration. After a couple of days of maceration. Everything is blended into small oak barrels to finish fermentation naturally. On gross lees for about 10 months without any additives. No fining, no filtration, no temperature control. No added SO2.
