An aromatic blend in keeping with Tim’s favorite Rhone Style. Retaining all the plush palate weight is the hallmark of this wine, which is always purposefully Mataro dominant. This allows the Mataro fruit, which has a similar tannin structure to Shiraz, to be ready to drink upon release as well as having some serious cellaring potential. 65% Mataro, 25% Grenache and 10% Shiraz is the usual blend make up which is dictated by the vintage. The wines are made using traditional Rhone Valley practices of warm ferments, whole bunch fermentation, no fining and minimal clarification. Says Tim: “I am a huge fan of the wines of Bandol, and I unashamedly draw inspiration from this Southern Rhone appellation.
