Pineau d’Aunis is another obscure, ancient varietal that survives in Touraine, most of the time used in blends with Cabernet Franc, with a spicy, refreshing and lively demeanor. This wine really shows off the spice in this grape with notes of strawberry stem, wet earth, red fruits, a little barnyard tone on the finish.
