Despite its close relationship to port this is by no means a sweet wine. With a dark complexion, and fragrant winter spices on the boquette one may think it to be bolder than it is. This earthy dark and brooding wine will pair well with a cold night or any red meat dishes.
Red wine from 80 years old vines, cultivated under organic conditions, with minimal intervention in the cellar, aged for 36 months in barrels. 85% destemming with minimal crushing and a long fermentation in small “lagares” with temperature control. Malolactic fermentation in new and used French Oak barrels (25% new).
