Domaine Jean-Claude Marsanne, Saint-Joseph

A real insider's Rhone. Domaine Jean Claude Marsanne is just a stone's throw from JL Chave, this little-known winemaker delivers top-level Saint Joseph Syrah at a still reasonable price. Strict, fruit, structure nice, cassis, violet, perfume, licorice sweet and round, good acidity, meaty, smokiness. The mouth is medium to full bodied, nice freshness and toasted finish.  Very complex and addictive. Silky with huge depth to the rich and opulent dark fruit all supported by vibrant acidity and firm yet velvety tannins. This is delicious already and will only get better.
